How Navisite can help enable the ISV Community
According to recent research commissioned by Google, software development contributes around £8 billion to the UK GDP; and will be worth over £30 billion to the UK economy by 2025. The software industry is already thought to be responsible for close to 400,000 jobs across the country.
IaaS is a key enabler for this sector, removing barriers for entry and enabling low cost experimentation. This “democratisation” of access to compute resources, combined with the ubiquity of low cost network access, provides the perfect platform for the rapid development and scalable delivery of applications. Developers can now spin up cloud instances using their software and tear them down when they’re done, without any manual intervention.
It is a great time to be an innovator and in this climate of growth and expansion, we have just launched two new UK NaviCloud Director nodes. NaviCloud Director, is an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform, designed to provide ISV’s with a flexible and versatile self-service platform enabling this growing developer community to create, test and then dynamically publish applications. NaviCloud Director leverages VMWare vCloud Director® 5.1, and provides access to VMware APIs and developer community.
To complement our platform offerings, we have also just launched a programme designed to offer ISV’s support to bring their applications to market. The Navisite SaaS Provider Programme provides technical, marketing, and sales support to help ISVs and SaaS-based companies focus on delivering applications to their clients in a cloud powered by Navisite. The Programme expands Navisite’s relationships with software companies beyond that of a cloud infrastructure supplier into one that is a strategic partnership.
