Making the Most of Managed Cloud: Infographic
Increasing profitability, business growth, reducing operational costs and attracting and retaining new clients are just few reasons why an increasing number of organizations are moving to the cloud. A recent IDC survey indicates that 78 percent of organizations are already using or planning to implement some form of cloud services in their IT mix – a 60 percent jump from 2015. To build on that, the managed cloud services market in particular is thriving – growing from $17 billion in 2014 to $43 billion in 2018 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.6 percent. For any cloud cynics still holding out, these numbers are a clear indication that cloud has gone mainstream.
So what’s driving enterprises to seek out managed cloud services? A few years ago my answer to that question would have been cost, but a declining percentage of organizations say saving money is their number reason for turning to managed cloud. They find the value and core competencies of a managed cloud provider (MCP) increasingly trump cost. I think this shift has come about with the emergence of hybrid and multi cloud deployments and the inherent complexities that come with managing multiple IT environments and systems. Organizations want a technology partner who has the experience and expertise to help them achieve success in the cloud. Check out the infographic below for more insights on today’s managed cloud services.
Regardless of where you are in the cloud journey a managed cloud provider can add value. If you’re just starting out, a MCP can act as your cloud Sherpa guiding you along the intricate and sometimes overwhelming migration process. And once you’re there, they can handle many of the critical, but time consuming, tactical aspects of maintaining cloud infrastructure. A MSP can deliver the scalability, security and support IT teams need to be able to focus on projects that are critical to business growth.
A managed cloud provider can help unleash the potential of your IT team and help you fully realize the benefits cloud promises to deliver. It all comes down to choosing the right provider with the resources and focus to support your business strategy and vision.
