Pricing
With NaviSite's Managed Cloud Services, customers pay only for the computing resources they use. NaviSite's resource-based pricing approach is more efficient and cost-effective than dedicated hosting and per-virtual machine (VM) pricing models. With dedicated hosting, customers pay for an entire physical server, regardless of the server utilization level.
Typically, dedicated servers use only up to 15% of a physical CPU and between 10% and 30% of physical memory. Even with virtualization, servers rarely reach high utilization levels – again, forcing customers to pay for unused or underutilized resources.
MCS Aggregate Resource Pricing
NaviSite's cloud services pricing is based on aggregate resource usage – customers enjoy the benefits of virtualization while still paying only for the consumed resources for a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Whether a single VM consumes all of a 2.5 GHz processor, or five VMs consume only 1/2 GHz apiece, the price is the same. With NaviSite, customers have greater control over expenses – they can create as many VMs as they need without having to worry about incurring unnecessary costs for servers with lower utilization levels. All resource pricing is based on aggregate usage: - CPU – Aggregate CPU usage across all VMs
- Memory – Aggregate memory usage across all VMs
- Storage – Total storage consumed by active and inactive VMs; Templates; and Snapshots

- Minimum Commit
Customers pay for a base cloud computing resource level, and can burst up to 50% of that level without incurring penalties. Standard 95th percentile cloud resource pricing applies to bursting. Customers may increase their 'minimum commit' at any time to take advantage of higher discounted pricing.
