Navisite beefs up staff support for local causes
In 2016, Navisite, a leading provider of enterprise-class cloud hosting, managed applications and services, was excited to be a part of the CowParade Surrey Hills – the world’s largest public art event and also a major local fundraiser. Organisations take part to sponsor a decorative fibreglass cow to raise money for charity. These appeared in public places across Surrey over the summer and autumn, and were ultimately auctioned off to raise further funds in November.
Our own cow, which we named Jess, first appeared outside the Navisite Europe HQ and then moved to the nearby Painshill Park so that members of the public were able to meet her. (Of course, we made sure Jess was appropriately dressed for her sunny vacation days in the park).
Donations from Navisite staff members were matched by the company to raise a total of more than £2000, which we were proud to present to the Community Foundation for Surrey.
The Foundation is an independent charitable trust which, in turn, supports local grassroots community and voluntary groups. These groups deliver projects aimed at reducing isolation for local people, providing support for children living in poverty and providing care for those affected by mental health issues. They also work on projects to bring communities together, such as local festivals, community gardens and good neighbourhood schemes.
At Navisite, we’re delighted to be able to support this worthy cause which helps us to do a little to help pay back the support we have received from Surrey. Both our European HQ and our two UK data centres are situated in Surrey – at East Molesey, Woking and Redhill respectively. Many of our staff are Surrey residents and of course, we rely heavily on local businesses for their products and services to support us.
We look forward to taking part in other fundraising activities in 2017.
